Denver

Back in February I had the chance to go out to Denver for Suni's birthday. It was such a great weekend with all of her friends!

We hung out in downtown Denver. We went to dinner and an amazing duel piano bar called Sing Sing 

Out of Suni's thirteen friends that went out with us, six were redheads! What are the odds? We had to document it

Snowboarding in Breckenridge with Suni and a few friends. This was my first time snowboarding since I tore my ACL. I was a little bit nervous but had nothing to worry about. I went straight from snowboarding to the airport. It was such a fun weekend and a great break from life! : )

April Dance Party

Red Cliffs

I had the chance to go to Red Cliffs down in Hurricane a little bit back. The weather was perfect! Tela, Marli, Dan, Ben, Jon, and I had a blast!

Angel's Landing Triple Date

I guess I just can't get enough of Zion. I went on a triple date where we hiked Angel's Landing.

 I think this picture with my roommate Haley pretty much sums up how I feel about that day...

I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family that came from all over to be here for me : )

An apple a day...

One of my students came in the other day and brought me an apple. I'm serious. An apple. I thought this only happened in the movies!

Firehouse Field Trip

During my first week of teaching I was able to take my class to the firehouse for a field trip. All of the other second grade classes went as well. I was pleased to hear at the end of our tour that my class was the most well behaved of any class my "tour guide" had all week... I think I'm doing a pretty good job so far : )

 They were super excited to see the fire trucks!

 I was probably the most excited to see this kid get strapped down. He can't sit still in class... I wonder if they'd let me borrow this.

 The students learned how to stop, drop, and roll. We also got to simulate a house being on fire (with synthetic smoke) and the students got to jump out of the window onto a foam pad. This was everyone's favorite part.

Students also got to talk to "911" and practice what they would say in case of an emergency.

Chick's

We recently studied the life cycle in my second grade class. We got six eggs and only two of them hatched.

The students named them Fluffy and Bob. They were soooo excited to have some classroom pets. These chicks were adorable and not too high maintenance.

Although listening to them all day long was a bit distracting... It was nice to use petting the chicks as an incentive for them to get their work done.
